Die alte Schule! Ty Stephens gibt uns Jazz und Soul, ein wenig von Pop und Latin-Swing - alle Sounds selbstredend perfekt abgemischt und ausgewogen. Seit Mitte der 90er als Solo-Mann unterwegs - das in dieser Zeit veröffentlichte Album „Musichameleon" gibt bis heute die Richtlinien des Stephens-Stil-Konglomerats vor. Ausgebildet auf den Bühnen dieser Welt, zwischen Musical und Keller-Bar, mit allen Show-Wassern gewaschen - perfektes zwischen Song-Writing und Interpretation, stil-sicher und hochgradig professionell. „Good Medicine" zeigt den Ty mit seiner aktuellen Band, einem bestens eingespielten Quartett, dass für die Aufnahmen um einige Gäste mit Sax und Horn ergänzt wurde. In den vergangenen Jahren konnte man gemeinsam 15 Songs zusammentragen - fein ausgespielte Soul/Jazz Aktionen, die sich jederzeit auch im direkten Umfeld von Downing oder McComb bestens darstellen können. Gut gehende Midtempo-Schwinger, atmospärisch dichte Slowies und wenn's darauf ankommt, dann gibt uns die Combo auch ordentlich Dampf mit auf den Tanzboden. Makellose Kollektion für große Leute mit Anspruch.

The old school! Ty Stephens gives us Jazz and Soul, a bit of Pop and Latin-Swing - all sounds, of course, perfectly mixed and balanced. Since the mid-'90s, he has been on the road as a solo artist - the album "Musichameleon," released during this time, still sets the guidelines for the Stephens style conglomerate. Trained on stages around the world, between musicals and basement bars, thoroughly seasoned with all the tricks of the trade - a perfect blend of songwriting and interpretation, stylistically confident and highly professional. "Good Medicine" showcases Ty with his current band, a well-rehearsed quartet, complemented by some guests on sax and horn for the recordings. Over the past years, they have compiled a collection of 15 finely played Soul/Jazz pieces that can easily hold their own in the immediate company of artists like Downing or McComb. Smooth mid-tempo swingers, atmospherically dense slow tunes, and when it matters, the combo also brings plenty of energy to the dance floor. An impeccable collection for discerning music enthusiasts.
