Aside from being in front of the lights, Ty Stephens can also be found behind the scenes specializing in lead and background vocals, vocal arrangements and coordination for live presentations and recordings; as performance coach for aspiring and accomplished artists; as choreographer of "Aileyans" for the Montclair HS Dance Co.; Vocal Director/Co-Producer for Jeree Wade's recording of her Off-Broadway show "Midlife, Oh the Drama," as well as Stage Director for the live production; Choir Director for The Center For Spiritual Living (West Orange, NJ); Vocal Director for 12 Miles West Theatre's production of "The Island"; Choreographer/Staging for Sam Kaufman's "One Day At A Time" & "My Hometown: USA" and Victoria Shore's "Sizzle"; Director, Band Leader, MC and Co-Producer for "Singing New Jersey" Vocal Competition, and Movement Co-ordinator for the Negro Ensemble Theatre Company (NYC).

Arts Education

Ty Stephens shares his experience in theatre as an outsourced arts professional. He is a Workshop Leader/Instructor of Teen Drama and Musical Theatre, and dance instructor with Sharon Miller's Academy For The Performing Arts (Montclair, NJ); Youth Jazz Vocal Summer Workshop leader for Friend Of The Arts (FOTA) in Long Island, NY. Beginning Vocals Workshop Leader in Brooklyn middle schools with Creative Outlet; Instructor for Steve Adubato's "Stand & Deliver" Leadership/Public Speaking Workshops in Newark, NJ Public High Schools; Children's Musical Theatre Workshop Instructor for the Watchung School (Montclair, NJ); Guest Vocalist for National Dance Institute's school productions in NYC; Dance instructor for Arts Connection (NYC); Director/Choreographer for Cheyney University's Fine Arts Scholars Summer workshop, and Assistant Director/Choreographer for Prep for Prep Commencement Presentations in NYC. He is currently teaching introduction to dance in East Orange, NJ Public Schools, and has school arts programs in development with friends/fellow artists Janet Hubert (Aunt Viv of "Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air") and Broadway Director/Choreographer Roumel Reaux for the Cicely Tyson School and the North Star Academy in Newark, NJ.
