ATLANTIC CITY was known for its music street called KENTUCKY AVENUE on the North Side of town. Music flowed from the clubs on both sides of the street from MEMORIAL DAY to LABOR DAY.

Before the Casinos took over...

The most famous of the clubs on KENTUCKY AVENUE was the CLUB HARLEM. This was like "the Black Copacabana" as it featured all the major Black talent of the era complete with flair, fashion and fantastic stage shows with showgirls, dancers and comedians thrilled and entertained the masses.

The setting for ON KENTUCKY AVENUE: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Famed Club Harlem is the CLUB HARLEM dress rehearsal for opening night of the 1969 season.

Within our show there is a 'love triangle' between the MC (Ivan King), the lead show girl and the featured female vocalist.

The show has an original score true to the era interspersed with classic songs from the 1960s.

ON KENTUCKY AVENUE: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Famed Club Harlem will bring you back to a time when nightclubbing was in vogue and leggy showgirls, black comics, specialty acts and great singers & dancers reigned supreme.
